Exercise is the New drug of choice

Paul Richards

Paul Richards is the CEO of Club Physical gyms in New Zealand

"I decided to join a gym to support my partner Janice, who was really keen to attend.

Variety of pills

Results really started to show on the fourth week. My friends and family started to comment on my new ‘slimmer appearance’. But it was after my eighth week that I had confirmation that I was really achieving GREAT results.

So I arrived at work to be called to a meeting with my boss. He explained that my colleagues had reported that I had suddenly become constantly happy, wide eyed and alert. I actually couldn’t find enough work to keep me busy! My boss informed me that I would have to undergo a drug test. He believed that my dramatic weight loss, coupled with these ‘symptoms’ was consistent with a ‘P’ user. Clearly he doesn’t spend enough time in crack alley talking gibberish non-stop to strangers with dilated pupils for 8 hours at a time. Gradually acquiring all the patience of a devoted ethnic cleanser in mid-massacre. Possibly he needs to get out more.

Anyway, I explained that I was attending the gym, but he refused to believe me and insisted on the drug test. Finally, at the subsequent appointment the doctor looked at me and said there was absolutely no way I could be a ‘p’ addict, given the great condition I was in.”

Tired? Listless? Try the new P!

Joseph’s results …

Blood pressure reduced from 140/80 to 110/70
Waist reduced: 13.8cms
Weight dropped 14.6 kilos
Chest increased: .2cms

Research this year explains why Joseph has an exercise ‘high’. Just 30 minutes of brisk walking can immediately boost the mood of depressed patients, giving them the same quick pick-me-up they may be seeking from cigarettes, caffeine or binge eating, a study found this year.

Researchers at the University of Texas at Austin found that people suffering from depression who walked on a treadmill for 30 minutes reported feeling more vigorous and had a greater sense of psychological well-being for up to an hour after completing the workout.

“These effects are common place for regular exercisers who almost take the ‘exercise high’ for granted”.

Thousands of people, no - millions of people all achieve their daily dose just like Joseph!” It's as simple as making the decision. Just Do it!
