Pesto Burger

Ingredients

 

8 ounces ground beef

Salt and pepper

1 ounce of fresh Mozzarella cheese

Tomato slice

1/4 cup fresh Basil pesto

1 cornmeal dusted Kaiser roll, butter toasted

 

Season the beef and form into a thick patty, do not pack the beef too tightly.

Grill the burger to desired internal temperature.

Top the burger with the tomato and fresh Mozzarella, and briefly place under a broiler to slightly melt the cheese.


Spoon the Pesto over the top of the burger and serve on toaster bun.

    Pesto turns this from plain jane to supermodel. Nothing beats freshly made pesto. I can even handle my partner's vegetarian burgers as long as there's a big dollop of pesto. Hail pesto.
