Between the drivel of mainstream radio, and the pretension of MySpace fanatics, lie a number of excellent musicians waiting to be discovered by a larger audience. With "In The Spotlight" Get Frank delves into the independent music world to introduce to you a selection of bands that deserve recognition. These acts are little-known, yet extremely talented - and are now thrust out of the dark and put "In The Spotlight."

Welcome to "In The Spotlight" - a new feature on Get Frank that will aim to give independent bands some well-deserved exposure.

My goal is to make Get Frank the place to come to when looking for excellent lesser-known/up-and-coming bands.

This will be an ongoing feature that will provide a bio, a review and a Q&A of some of New Zealand's top independent acts, as well as a bevy of international gems.

This is also an open call to any band or artist out there that would like to be featured on "In The Spotlight." I am very open to submissions and if you think you've got what it takes then email me at lukas@getfrank.co.nz

    Awesome idea and kudos to Get Frank for backing it. I think it is time that someone puts some energy into sifting through the unknowns and providing a platform to take them to the next level. Who knows - in years to come we may have some world class acts reminiscing about how if it weren't for that music editor Lukas Clark-Memler and that awesome site Get Frank that they never would have been discovered. I look forward to making this my regular stop in the future to see who is up and coming. thanks for the effort.
