Ever wanted an easy way to get your music stored on your iPod, phone, laptop or desktop computer to play on your home stereo system?
Well look no further because Belkin have just made it child’s play.
The biscuit-sized Bluetooth Music Bridge simply plugs directly into your stereo (or any standard output device for that matter) using the included 3.5mm to RCA or 3.5mm to 3.5mm cords and sits there discreetly while you decide what you’re going to pair with it.
The Bluetooth unit can store up to 6 paired devices of your choosing. I don’t own an iPhone or 2nd Generation iPod Touch with Bluetooth capabilities, but my Nokia and Sony Ericsson mobiles connected to the Music Bridge straight away, as did my Dell Laptop and iMac. Both computers recognised the unit as Bluetooth headphones and streaming music to it was effortless.
While the sound quality might not be music to the trained ear of an audiophile, I found it to be quite adequate if a fraction tinny (which was easily tweaked using output settings at the source). But honestly, I personally only know two people who would seriously complain about the Music Bridge sound quality – and they both own $50,000+ stereo systems.
There are other products available for streaming music to your stereo, along with hard-wiring and USB options, but two thing’s are a given when you buy a Belkin product – simplicity of use and build quality, and at just $79.95 the Music Bridge is one of the cheaper options out there.
