Black, slinky and light weight.

It’s the Muse from Phillips and does exactly what it purports to do; out-sound its competition.
Phillips recently orchestrated a road trip, visiting key locations around the entire country, pitting the GoGear up against the market leaders of digital media players.
The response from the public was almost unanimous, the GoGear is the shizz.
Utilizing a built in Noise Cancellation as soon as you begin playing either Music or Vids it’s just you and your entertainment, the world around you disappears as you sink into the greatest hits on your playlist.
Supporting all types of media content, MP3, AVI, MP4 and so on as well as enabling you to relive the best moments in your personal history with a photo viewer. The GoGear IS a player however, it does not take photos, there is no in built camera.
Controls are easy to navigate around, on screen you have the Main Menu which is straightforward, Music, Movies, Photos or whatever and Settings.
Under Settings are the usual options of Equalizer, Display, Volume Control etc.
Myself, having an iPhone which has been an extension of my own body for almost a year now, I was sceptical that this credit card sized light weight could wean me off the Apple giant.
After syncing it with my PC, which is a no brainer and loading on ‘Shane’s Great Hits’, I was wowed beyond the wow factor.
However, I did find that during playback there was a crucial need for a quick access button, which Phillips omitted to add.
Sure you can take your Noise Cancelling ear plugs out if need be, but if you need to stop playing your media in a hurry, or that ‘one’ track that everyone has on a playlist where they question why oh why did I put THIS song on comes up, I found that it was not always so easy to skip it.
The GoGear will go to Sleep after a few minutes (this is configurable under the Settings), switching the screen off to conserve the rechargeable batteries life. More often than not, I would try and skip a track which upon ‘waking up’ the GoGear would default back to the Main Menu, which then resulted in quite a few clicks, selections and navigating until I got to the Now Plying and of course by that stage, I might as well have just left it as the track was almost half way through.
Maybe a ‘hot key’ or Quick Select toggle is something that Phillips will add into future models...?
I would say that it has the highest quality output of audio than any of the existing media playing devices currently on the market.
The GoGear comes in 8 or 16GB, this is fixed memory, there is no facility to add media cards.
In anycase, if you are as insanely mad about high quality sound when it comes to music (or movies), like me, then the GoGear is the one.
The GoGear Muse gets five thumbs up for me.
