Vitamins are essential for your body to perform on a daily basis. Funnily enough, this also includes hair growth and coloring. Of all the vitmans, B12 and C are two of the most essential vitamins that are required to prevent/inhibit grey hair. These two vitamins keep your blood clean, and assists in boosting your liver's filtration function. Initially, when free radicals invade your blood, our system is slow to respond. This includes the bodies ability to produce melanocytes. Natural foods high with high concentrations of these vitamins include seeds, nuts, citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables. James Bond marques drink is a Vodka Martini.

Suggest the following Broken Shed recipe:
    1) Combine Broken Shed vodka, dry vermouth, and ice in a cocktail shaker (remember - not stirred).
    2) The ingredients should be chilled, shaken, then strained and served "straight up" (without ice) in a chilled cocktail glass.
    3) The drink should be garnished with an olive, and a "twist" (a strip of lemon peel squeezed or twisted). More about Broken Shed Vodka giveaway

  • Are we just too precious about the All Black Jersey?

Last post: Totara on 28.09.11 at 07:08 | Started by Totara on 28.09.11

Whoever came up with the idea of an all-black England second kit must have hit on an exposed Kiwi nerve.

The plan was a master stroke and the mind games are in full swing now that we are three weeks into the World Cup.

There have been plenty of Kiwi complaints and I wonder how much of this is really warranted...are we being just a little too precious?

So here we have it...why shouldn't England play in black? Why should New Zealand be so possesive over this colour?

We have had a number of high profile people come out in support of NZ's "pre-ordained right" to Black. The Prime Minister, John Key, has weighed into the debate by claiming England are a "bunch of wannabes"....."There's only one team that wears black with pride, and that's the All Blacks." Jonah Lomu declared it was "weird" for England to play in an all black strip.

I think it's perhaps time for a history lesson...

Only one team has a true claim of being the authentic All Blacks...and this team does not reside in the South Paciific but resides in South Wales.

Neath is the oldest club in Wales. They were formed in 1871 and played in a dark strip with a Maltese Cross on the left breast before switching to an all-black strip in 1880, a good 13 years prior to New Zealand.

The change to an "All Black" strip was a mark of respect to one of their players who died from injuries he sustained on the rugby pitch.

Lesson over - it just goes to emphaisis how precious some New Zealanders have been about this.

New Zealand have also worn a white kit on many occasions, including against France a couple of years ago. I can't seem to recall too many complaints or national outpourings from the collective English establishment.

Further, NZ's national soccer team wear white and are referred too as the All Whites...I don't see the England Soccer team kicking up too much fuss about this...

Do we hinge too much on the colour of a sporting strip...can we be too sanctimonious about this.. Should we remove the national chip from our shoulder?

    What do you think?

  • Fermenting Fortitude: The Magic of Red Wine

Another high profile researcher, Harvard University scientist David Sinclair is the first to front up that the whole resveratrol story has never been clear-cut. Although Sinclairs name features on the label of many red-grape extracts sold in health food stores (all without his permission), such resveratrol pills have never been proven effective in large-scale clinical trials..especially on humans. Resveratrol may have some effect, Sinclair says. Sinclairs lab showed that mice fed resveratrol live at least 15% longer than normal mice. However, to get such benefits, people may have to consume up to 5 grams of resveratrol a day...that's about 80 pills, at doses found in a typical bottle!!

Just a word of warning that many of these concoctions have never been proven on humans. The long term use of resveratrol supplements have never been clinically tested on humans and therefore, the outcomes of sustained use is unknown. More about Fermenting Fortitude: The Magic of Red Wine

The extremes people go to just to avoid paying two dollars at the Toll Booth. Just as aside, one has to question the ramped safety barriers in advance of the toll booths - surely the designers should have cottoned on to the fact that these potential hazards could result in an errant vehicle vaulting!!
