My brother got me a jar of nothing for my birthday. Which is pretty much an empty jar. Yep, nearly as good as the Japanese hand-bag he got me for Xmas (I'm a guy) that has suction cups on one side (apparently designed to stop it sliding off the dah of a car). What a guy ...

The only problem I have with Denzel Washington is that every role he plays ends up being Denzel Washington - the man has about as much range as a Hummer on $2 of gas. You could pretty much cut any Denzel character out of any movie he has been in and paste it into any other movie he has been in ... and no-body would notice the difference. Galbraith's in Mt Eden has an awesome line-up of both beer and Scotch (as well as their own brews) ... and the various Belgium-style base (like De Post, the Occidental, etc) all have some good offerings. Try some tried and true labels like Leffe, Chimay, McEwens, etc.

Note that Ale is typically fermented at temperatures between 15 and 24 °C (60 and 75 °F). At these temperatures, yeast produces significant amounts of esters and other secondary flavour and aroma products, and the result is often a beer with slightly "fruity" compounds resembling apple, pear, pineapple, banana, plum, or prune, among others. Your typical ale has a sweeter, fuller body than a lager ... if you have only ever consumed a lager or light beer (the type of chilled-to-the-point-of-no-flavour drink that Sam and Oliver would appreciate, no doubt in a plastic cup), then you haven't lived yet.
